Meditate on These Things

FEB10

“Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:54

This centurion probably had seen many crucifixions, but as he saw all the events that were happening on this particular day he realized this was different.  The Lamb of God had been slain and the Savior just saved His people.  As you meditate today, remember that this sacrifice was for you.  The Son of God died for you, are you living for Him?

FEB9

As John the Baptist saw Jesus coming he said, ”Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

He is our Savior.  He is Immanuel meaning God with us.  He is the Lamb of God.  Jesus came to the world in order to take away sin.  As a Lamb was sacrificed in the Old Testament, our Lord was sacrificed for us.  Praise be to God for the opportunity for salvation!

FEB8

“BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.” Matthew 1:23

We saw yesterday that our Lord’s name “Jesus” means “Savior” or “Jehovah saves”.  We see here that He would be called Immanuel which means “God with us”.  As you meditate today, consider how amazing it is that the Son of God walked on the earth. Remember, He truly was with us, and that we can be with Him if we live faithfully.

FEB7

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21

Can you imagine being told that your son would be the Savior of the people?  From the beginning, the plan was established to give us the opportunity for salvation.  How humbling it must have been Mary to hold her baby knowing that He was the Savior.  Let us all take the time to thank God for His plan and for the Savior through which His plan was fulfilled.

FEB4

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”  Psalm 19:14

He is the Creator of all!  His words are more desirable than gold.  He is to be our Rock and our Redeemer!  Let us all strive to be found acceptable in His sight.

FEB3

“The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7

Because nature shouts that there is a God, it moves us to strive to live for Him.  Do we have the same attitude that we read of in Psalm 19?  Not only is there beauty found in His creation, but also in His word.  Let us never take His word for granted.

FEB2

“Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard.” Psalm 19:2-3

Whether you have the pleasure to see the beautiful mountains, beaches, grass, or snow let us all understand that they are shouting “There is a God!”

As a sister in Christ said of yesterdays ice, “The ice this morning, even though it made streets and driveways slippery, was beautiful on the trees. Sometimes people need a little adverse weather conditions to slow down (mentally and physically).  God gives us lots of reminders.”

FEB1

“The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Psalm 19:1

It is so easy to get too busy to realize God’s creation all around us.  Take time today to realize the beauty of His handy work.
