Running with Horses
"If you have run with footmen and they have tired you out, then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a land of peace, how will you do in the thicket of Jordan?" - Jeremiah 12:5
How often do we see people struggling with the little things? If people can't make it through little struggles, how will they make it when big difficulties arise? Learning how to handle the little things trains us to have victory over big difficulties.
We need to tackle the little issues with diligence. This all starts with our relationship with God. We see in Jeremiah what happens if we don't have a relationship with God on a day to day basis. Let us never think that we only need to lean on God when the big difficulties arise. If we can get in the habit of leaning on God always, it will be that much easier to do when times are tough.
Never forget the story of David. He knew he could handle Goliath because of how God had helped him through other situations. It is absolutely the same for us. Start training today for the difficulties that will arise in our lives. Cling to the great God of all comfort and He will upload you with His right hand. As David wrote in Psalm 63:8, "My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me."
