16 Basic Bible Facts
Fact 1: Man is a sinner.
Read: Romans 3:23
Point: Every accountable person knows the difference between right and wrong.
Read: Matthew 18:3
Point: We are born without sin.
Read: I John 3:4-6 and I John 1:8-9
Point: Everyone needs a savior.
Fact 2: Jesus is that Savior.
Read: Matthew 1:21 and Luke 19:10
Point: We are all sinners, and we all need to be saved.
Read: Hebrews 5:8-9
Point: He is Savior to those who obey Him.
Fact 3: The gospel is God’s power to save.
Read: Romans 1:16-17 and I Corinthians 15:1-4
Point: Gospel saves by “Faith in His Word”
Read: II Thessalonians 1:8 and Acts 2:39
Fact 4: The gospel is to be preached.
Read: Mark 16:15 and Romans 10:13-17
Point: To be saved, you have to hear the truth.
Fact 5: With hearing the gospel, you must believe it.
Read: Mark 16:16
Point: A person is lost without believing.
Fact 6: Our Lord demands repentance.
Read: Luke 13:3-5 and Acts 17:30
Point: A person is lost without repentance. It is a change of heart – turning from sin.
Fact 7: A follower of Christ must confess Christ with the mouth.
Read: Romans 10:9-10
Example: Eunuch in Acts 8
Point: A person is lost without confession.
Fact 8: Baptism saves.
Read: I Peter 3: 21
Point: Not baptism alone, but in conjunction with belief, repentence and confession.
Read: Acts 22:16
Fact 9: Baptism is a burial in water.
Read: Romans 6:3-5
Point: Sprinkling and pouring are not burials.
*Would you sprinkle a little dirt on the dead and call them buried?

Fact 10: Baptism puts a person in Christ.
Read: Galatians 3:26-27
Point: Baptism is the final step to get into Christ.
Fact 11: Baptism puts you in the church.
Read: I Corinthians 12:13
Point: God does the work.
Read: Colossians 2:12 and Ephesians 1:22-23
Point: The body is the church.
Fact 12: Jesus established the church.
Read: Matthew 16:18
Point: Jesus said, “I will build my church.”
Read: Ephesians 4:4 and 5:23 to the end of the chapter and Acts 20:28
Point: If you want to be saved you must be a member of the church Jesus built.
Fact 13: A person must be a Christian only.
Read: I Peter 4:16 and Acts 4:12 - Christian means “one in Christ.”
Point: No other name but Christian. Denominational names are divisive and wrong.
Fact 14: God demands true worship.
Read: John 4:24
Point: Worship is not for entertainment or what man wants. It is only according to His truth.
Read: Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 16:1-2; Ephesians 5:19; Acts 2:42
Point: Worship involves singing, praising God, study of God’s word (the Bible), fellowship, breaking of bread (communion) and prayer.
*There is no reference to instruments in the church Christ built. Ask yourself, “Is it of God or of man?”
Fact 15: You must be faithful until death.
Read: Revelation 2:10 and John 8:31
Point: You can lose your salvation.
Fact 16: A Christian can be lost.
Read: Hebrews 3:12; Galatians 5:4; II Thessalonians 1:6-10; Matthew 7:21-23; II Peter 2:20 – 21.
So, my friend, what will you do about this?
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Scripture is God speaking to us.
Tidbits of Truth:
The old covenant is done away with. Hebrews 8:13, 9:15, 10:8-10
We must speak only as the oracles (the very word) of God. I Peter 4:11; Galatians 1:6-10; Revelation 22:18; 2 Peter 1:21
I Peter 3:15 (We are all Evangelists!) Jesus said “if you love me….” John 14:15, 23-24, 15:10
