God's Steadfast Love
Nature can bring a calming sense of inspiration to the hearts of God’s children because the Earth is full of His unwavering love. In Romans 1:19-20, Paul illustrates that God has shown His eternal power, divinity, and invisible attributes to mankind since creation. Once such attribute is God’s continual reliability. Gravity and other unchanging principles in nature, are known as physical constants in science. These merely exist in the world’s eyes, but to a follower of Christ, they are proof of God’s trustworthiness. Nature brings glory to God by doing what it was created to do. Creation praises God and obeys Him. In a distracting and ever changing world, are we doing the same as His Children?
Psalm 33:12 (ESV) says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.” God created every person on this Earth: thus, you are among His chosen heritage. God’s heart yearns and plans for all the generations of His children to live in prosperity and hope (Jer. 29:11, Psalm 33:11). However, the blessings we have in Christ can only become true if we know and obey Him. If we put trust in worldly false hopes, like a warrior who rests his deliverance on his strength, then we will surely be disappointed. There are amazing people who achieve great things in this world, but nothing physical can compare to the spiritual greatness of God. Psalm 33:19 (ESV) states, “the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love.” God is the only being who can deliver you from the snare of death and His plans can never be thwarted. His eyes will be on you, but only if you have your heart set on Him.
So let us conclude our thoughts in prayer:
God, you have given us this day as another opportunity to come to you in thanks. On July fourth your children in the U.S. had a special day to celebrate and remember that our freedom came at a cost. Spiritually, we are free because of your son’s sacrifice. You sent your son to Earth to guide us in righteousness and on the cross for our sake. Through Christ we have an immense amount of spiritual blessings, and nothing on this Earth can compare to them. We physically live in this country with freedoms and liberties because the many who sacrificed and continue to put their lives on the line for our sakes. Thank you for the prosperity we have and please help us use it to glorify your name. You are wonderful God and we praise you in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
